Martin Oluba is primarily a business analytics and economic policy expert with strong albeit secondary interest in academia. This explains his involvement as a professor of economics and finance at the SMC University, Switzerland; a faculty (mentor) for doctoral dissertations at Northcentral University, Arizona, USA; professor of international administration and global economics at EUCLID (Euclid Intergovernmental University Framework) as well as professor of economics at UGSM-Monarch Business School in Greece. At present, he is the president and chief executive officer of ValueFronteira Limited, a Nigeria-based consulting firm of economic and financial analysts. He is equally the Director of the Centre for the Study of African Financial Regulatory Institutions; a Fellow of the Centre for the study of Economic Policy Performance; a Senior Fellow of the Institute for Public Policy Analysis; a Certified International Trade Educationist; a member of the governing council of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industries (LCCI) and chair of its economics and statistics committee.

Martin has about 20 years experience in leading several economic and financial research activities (comprising analysis, modelling and forecasting the economy, sectors, markets, financial instruments. etc) and has largely been responsible (in almost all the instances) for setting up and managing processes and structures for the delivery of high quality strategic advice in several research-driven corporate environments/institutions.

His areas of interest include policy impact assessment; responses of entrepreneurship, innovation and investment decisions to economic prices in highly unstable economies; patterns of investment behaviour across socio-economic groups; patterns of investment financing in Africa and; corporate investment decisions and firm performance; interface between the policies of the central bank and the growth of the private sector; fine-tuning of performance metrics and accountability structure for government institutions.

Martin's consulting experience cuts across several sectors of the Nigerian economy and comprises many engagements with leading international development agencies namely the World Bank, UNDP, DFID, UNIFEM, SMSE, CIDA, SLGP, European Commission; the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, several ministries, departments and agencies; several state governments; the National Planning Commission, the National Assembly and many other corporate organizations.

At various times, Martin was Executive Director at Forte Asset Management Limited, the chief executive officer of Platinum Capital Limited - the capital-market-subsidiary of Platinum Bank (now Bank PHB), Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Lombard Assets Management Limited and Strategic Capital Alliance Limited - a research-based consulting outfit. As the head of Platinum Capital Limited, Martin doubled as the head of economics, research and strategy for the bank (Bank PHB). Prior to these positions, Martin was a senior investment analyst (with Hamilton Hammer & Co.) with responsibility for securities forecasting; associate consultant/team leader, research and strategy (ReStraL Consulting); as well as group head research and strategy (BGL Limited). He was equally a research fellow at the Lagos Business School between 1996-7.

Martin is a member of the editorial board of the following: Journal of African Markets and Financial Regulatory Institutions, Businessday newspapers (where he is equally a columnist), and The Nigerian Stock Market Annual. He is also a member of the academic advisory board of Multimix Academy - a frontline institution for executive education in logistics business and a member of the advisory committee to the Enugu state government on private sector development.

Martin obtained a bachelors degree (cum laude) and a master's degree (with a distinction) in economics from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. He equally obtained Ph.D from ESEADE University Institute Argentina with a dissertation titled "Responses of Gross Domestic and Foreign Private Investments to Macroeconomic Conditions in Nigeria" as well as obtained a DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) from the SMC University, Switzerland. He is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in diplomacy and international affairs at Euclid University.
